Well, the Vancouver Canucks' 2023 NHL Offseason is off to a rocky start.

The NHL has fined the Canucks $50,000 for violating offseason training rules. After the regular season, Vancouver held ice sessions from April 17 to April 23. This goes against the CBA, and now the Canucks are paying the price for it.

Canucks legends Henrik Sedin and Daniel Sedin held the offseason sessions, and it has been confirmed by Rick Dhaliwal that forwards Dakota Joshua and Jack Studnicka participated in them. It has also been reported that up to six players (including Joshua and Studnicka) participated.

Overall, this is not the best news in the world for Vancouver, but the club's day would become far brighter if they win tonight's draft lottery. The Canucks have a 3% chance of securing the first-overall pick and becoming the eventual landing spot for Vancouver native Connor Bedard. We shall find out the top prospect's new home shortly.
