Quick Hits: April 23, 2023
1) In the weeks to come, there will be several events organized be or otherwise involving the Flyers Alumni Association. With the Flyers and Phantoms' seasons finished, today is a good day to talk about the upcoming events and what they support. Over the next couple weeks, I'll have some analysis of the 2022-23 Flyers season. I'll start focusing more coverage on the NHL Entry Draft after the lottery on May 8.
* SNIDER HOCKEY CELEBRITY BARTENDER EVENT
On May 2, 2023, the annual Celebrity Bartender event at the Great American Pub in Wayne, PA, will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. EDT. The event is organized by Snider Hockey and jointly promoted by the Flyers Alumni Association. One hundred percent of the proceeds benefit directly benefit under-resourced youth enrolled in Snider's education, hockey, life skills and scholarship programs.
Event tickets include appetizers, unlimited beer/wine at the rooftop bar, a raffle ticket for prizes, and a 15% off dine-in voucher at the Great American Pub. Last year's event sold out and this year's is close to selling out, too. Only five tickets remain as of this writing. If you're planning to come but have not yet
purchased tickets, do so ASAP.
The bartenders will team up for 15-minute shifts, working in combination with the Great American Pub employees. Tips also benefit Snider Hockey. When "off-duty", the bartenders will mix and mingle with attendees. The bartender roster, listed alphabetically:

Flyers Alumni Walk/Run/Stroll at Washington Crossing Historic Park
Rescheduled from April 30 so as not to overlap with the Broad St. Run in Philadelphia, the 2023 Flyers Alumni Walk/Run/Stroll will take place on Sunday, June 11, 2023, starting at 11 a.m. EDT. The event is held on the New Hope side of Washington Crossing Historic Park (1638 River Road New Hope, PA 18938).
As with last year, participants have the option of either doing the event in person or virtually. There is a choice of a 1k stroll (a family-friendly option) or do a 5k run/walking course. There will also be kid-friendly activities during the day.
All proceeds benefit the Flyers Warriors hockey program for local disabled military veterans and the Bucks County YMCA's Veterans Wellness program.

FLYERS ALUMNI GOLF INVITATIONAL AT DUPONT COUNTRY CLUB
The annual Flyers Alumni Association Golf Invitational at Dupont Country Club in Wilmington will be held on June 19, 2023. Foursomes for the event are sold out. For sponsorship information, visit FlyersAlumni.net.
FLYERS ALUMNI FANTASY HOCKEY CAMP
The 9th Annual Flyers Alumni Fantasy Hockey Camp will be held at the Class of 1923 Arena at the University of Pennsylvania from Aug 19-22, 2023. The event is sold out.
