The Los Angeles Kings have reportedly signed forward Nate Thompson to a professional tryout.

Thompson is 37 years old and this past season, he scored one goal and three points in 33 games. The forward has played a total of 844 career NHL games and also spent time with the Kings from 2018 to 2019.

It could be difficult for Thompson to win a roster spot with the Kings, given how many quality forwards will already be pushing for spots. Despite being a playoff team last season, the Kings should still be continuing to integrate young talent into the lineup. That said, bringing in Thompson on the PTO creates more competition at the bottom of the forward group, so we'll see how this plays out.
