Nice card for a Monday night to start the month of March with 7 games. Three of which involves rematches with two of them from the North Division. Can the Oilers rebound from a shutout loss on Saturday night to the Leafs? Can Ottawa regain their form against Calgary that saw them win 3 in a row? Carolina and Florida go toe to toe as only two points separate them atop the Central Division standings. The Canes took round one on Saturday night in a shootout.
Scenario #1 – Teams that are playing each other in back to back games, in which the home team loses the first game, the record of the home team in the second game is 37-20! Ottawa, Florida and Edmonton fit the system tonight.
Scenario #2 – Teams playing back to back road games on consecutive nights tend to go under the total in the 2nd game. So far that trend is 20-15 when teams play on the road back to back nights.
Scenario #3 - One last angle I am tracking that is slightly profitable and similar to Scenario #1, is when any team loses the first game of a back to back against the same team, regardless if it’s on the road or at home, those teams are 53-38 in that situation.

Gamenotes for tonight –
Canes/Panthers – They have split the first 2 head to head, both 4-3 games.
Flames/Sens – Third straight game head to head. First two games went over the total. Lets see if they tighten up defensively.
Canucks/Jets – Jets have won 4 in a row, while the Canucks have lost 4 in a row. Both teams going in different directions. Jets won 2 of 3 head to head this season.
Leafs/Oilers – Leafs have won 3 of 5 head to head this season.
Wild/Knights – Wild have won 6 in a row and are easily the surprise team of the NHL this year. Great road team versus a great home team. First meeting head to head.
Blues/Ducks – Ducks have lost 6 in a row, but the Blues are 4-6 in their last 10. Blues are a very road good team and won the first 2 head to head.
Avs/Sharks – Avs won the first 2 meetings this year but the Sharks have only had 4 home games this season. Lets see how they respond at home.
