After a third period comeback, the Anaheim Ducks fell 5-4 to the Vegas Golden Knights last night.

The Golden Knights dominated the Ducks in the first period and Anaheim was very lucky to escape the period only down two goals.

Ryan Miller may have allowed five goals but he had to make some huge saves early on, just to keep the Ducks in the game. It was glove save after glove save on one-timers and shots from players with tons of time and space. Miller didn’t have much help on most of the goals and without him, the deficit could’ve been much greater.

Anaheim got into the game a bit in the second period and did manage to make a comeback in the third period, before Vegas took the lead once and for all late in the game.

Defensively, it was a very rough game for the Ducks. Anaheim did give up fewer chances as the game went on but just about every single defender on the team made some pretty bad errors.

Anaheim did manage to get some chances of their own later in the game as well but overall, they didn’t get a ton of shots and the score made the game seem closer than it actually was.

The Ducks started slow and despite a comeback, it wasn't Anaheim's best effort.
