Well… so much for my sweep predictions… both 12 seeds won yesterday putting Edmonton and Pittsburgh behind an early 8-bal, trailing their series 0-1. I guess I have to keep the March Madness scenarios in mind, there is ALWAYS a 5-12 upset. Let’s hope my next prediction is a little better.
>Nashville vs. Arizona - This series brings back some baaaaaad memories for Pred Nation. Memories of suspensions and disciplinary actions and goaltenders stealing series. But that was two coaches and a lot of water under the bridge since that fateful series.
Lets face it… Nashville should win this series unless the JoFA line struggles and the team does not get playoff level goaltending. The Coyotes started the season well… led the Pacific Division until mid-season and got outstanding goaltending from Darcy Kuemper. The team fell apart when Kuemper went down and wouldn’t be in the m mix without the expanded format of this bizarre playoff season.
The Coyotes are playing with house money and the lomger the Predators allow them to remain in the series, the more their confidence will grow. The Predators MUST get off to a fast start and take that hope away. A five game series is a very different animal. This Predators team has a bit of an attitude… and that is a good thing.
My call? Preds in four.
Strap in, puck drops at 1 pm… let’s get it on!!
