Every article, I try to include a poll question for readers to vote on, then review the results from the week’s polls every weekend. I’m late on this, but here are last week’s poll results and my thoughts on how they turned out.
QUESTION: What are your thoughts on Mike Futa leaving the organization?

Don’t like it: 63%
Don’t really care either way: 33%
Like it: 4%
Futa has been around for a long time and has played a key role in drafting and scouting. We have no idea if it’ll have a negative impact on the Kings like 63 per cent of voters think but either way, it’s certainly not a positive.
QUESTION: Do you want to see Trevor Lewis re-signed?

Yes: 18%
Obviously as I discussed in the article, I agree with the 82 per cent here. Lewis has been a great member of the team for a long time but at this point, it’s time to move on. There are only so many roster spots and even if he doesn’t cost much on a new contract, it’s probably a better idea to get a younger player in the lineup, rather than Lewis.
QUESTION: Who do you think will be selected by Seattle in next year’s expansion draft?

Either Matt Luff, Trevor Moore or Austin Wagner: 16%
Either Dustin Brown or Jeff Carter: 7%
Yeah, I really think it’ll be Quick here. Los Angeles may need to give up an asset, similar to what Pittsburgh did in giving up a second-round pick for Vegas to select Marc-Andre Fleury, but the Kings certainly have the picks to do it. There aren’t going to be too many goalies capable of starting a high number of games available and Quick can bring experience to what will likely be a fairly young team.
