Best players - week 21

A few more weeks until the playoffs begin in KHL - meanwhile the league has announced the best players for week 21 of the regular season.


Best goalie was Edward Pasquale (Barys), who won two road games last week, against CSKA and Avtomobilist. The Kazakhstani franchise’s goalie had a saves percentage of 94.12% (he faced a total of 68 shots, with an average of 34 a night) and a goals-against average of 2.00.

The best defenseman was Ryan Murphy (Neftekhimik), who all three games with his team last week, scoring 4 (2+2) players. The Canadian defenseman ended all the games with a positive plus/minus rating, being plus-7 (best result of the week).

The best forward was Nikita Soshnikov (Salavat Yulaev), who scored 7 (5+2) points in three games last week (best result of the week). The Salavat Yulaev forward scored goals in all games, posting a hat-trick against SKA and posting no negative ratings, ending the week being plus-2. Moreover, he had 16 shots on goal and recorded 5 hits.

The best rookie was forward Dmitry Voronkov (Ak Bars), who won two of three games last week with his team, scoring 2 (1+1) points. He posted the game-winning goal in the road game against Dinamo Riga. The 19-years-old forward posted no negative ratings, ending the week being plus-1. Voronkov had an average time on ice of 14 minutes and 13 seconds and recorded 3 hits.
