The Devils have been very hesitant to move Vatanen, but as injuries start to mount around the NHL the price may be right for them to move Sami as a rental...especially to a team like Montreal,
The Canadiens have lost Shea Weber and are NOT going into sell mode yet...and the Devils want Vatanen to be a part of their future...Whenever you trade a rental player with hope that the player could still sign back with you in the summer you are taking a huge risk. What if that player goes on a long playoff run and falls in love with the new city?
While it is true that many players will skip the morning skate, Sami Vatanen hasn't tended to be one of them...However, he did miss the skate today...
