NHL Network ranks Rangers' prospect pool #1 in the league

With the Traverse City Tournament a few weeks away and not much going on right now on, thought I would post the NHL Network tweet below where they rank the Rangers prospect pool first in the league. Unsure I would have them first, but clearly the pool is more deeper and better than a few seasons ago, and at worst, top-five seems reasonable. The "rebuild" has resulted in a major uplift to the prospect pool with several of those players expected to compete for spots in training camp.

The NHL Network crew ranks the #NYR prospect pool No. 1 in the NHL and talks about what to expect from Kaapo Kakko:

This overall ranking comes on the heels of the NHL Network ranking the Top 50 Prospects heading into this season and the Rangers had:

#2: Kaapo Kakko
#12: Vitali Kravtsov
#20: Igor Shesterkin
#30: Adam Fox

The Rangers are the only team to have four prospects in the top-30 and three prospects in the top-20. In addition, and this is new, per the above segment on the NHL Network, K'Andre Miller is #51, so the Rangers would have five of the top-51 prospects.

Blueshirt Banter, led by Adam Herman, did an excellent ranking of the Rangers' prospects. If you haven't yet read them, they are worth a look. Other Rangers' and prospects sites break down the team's and leagues prospects similarly. If you look at where New York was three years ago, largely due to trading first rounders year after to year, to now, it's a quantum jump up the rankings. Not every prospect will hit in general or at the level predicted, but the future sure looks very bright for the Blueshirts.

I am kind of shocked at all the negatively on this blog. The Rangers did what they said they would do which is rebuild. They are not fully at the place we all would like, but the change from two years ago to now is staggering. The team has pieces for the present and the future and look to be set down the road. Some cap mismanagement had to be addressed and still has its tentacles on this team, but they are getting closer to being out from under. Unsure what some want and expect New York to be doing. Please enlighten me as maybe I am missing it.
