We’ve hit the spring running, the playoff buzz is off the hook, and all us collectors are prepping for the bi-annual Sportcard and Memorabilia Expo in Toronto! This is a huge event on multiple levels, not the least of which is the glut of signings that occur over the course of the three day event. This edition is no different, with many a player, old and new, attending to scribble up our memorabilia.
With the Centennial Season of the Leafs in peak celebration mode, signing sessions will be emphasizing significant blue and white representation. Right off the top, opening day of the Expo (Friday, May 5th) will see four former Leafs on the docket, with Johnny Bower, Red Kelly, Norm Ullman and Eddie Shack taking part in what is being touted as a “Fan Appreciation… event, with all players being packaged together at a $30 hit. The following two days will then see former Leafs Grant Fuhr, Eric Lindros and Curtis Joseph coming on board, providing a seven player Maple Leaf haul over the course of the Expo.
Not a Leafs fan? Perhaps a goalie is more up your alley? If so, in addition to the aforementioned Fuhr and Joseph, both Bernie Parent and Billy Smith will be appearing, giving a four goalie stack! Leafs and goalies not your bag? Still looking for a hook? What about a family affair, with Mark and Marty Howe, Bobby and Dennis Hull, and “The Hanson Brothers… also inking up some memorabilia, whether individually or as part of package deals! On top of this, Hall of Famers’ Guy LaFleur and Paul Coffey, as well as up and coming Coyotes forward Max Domi, will participate in rounding out a very solid line-up for the weekend!
