Welcome back Hockeybuzzards for another kick at the “Who Am I” can!!! I’m quite interested to see how this weeks’ clues play out, but first, let’s get to last weeks’ quiz:

1. I was traded five times in five seasons. (EDM to NYR in 92-93, to STL in July 94, to NJ then VAN in 95-96, then back to NYR in 96-97)

2. I have won multiple Stanley Cups. (85/87/88/90 with EDM & 94 with NYR)

3. I have medals from the Olympics, World & World Junior Championships. (WJC Silver in 1984, Olympic & WC bronze in 98 & 2000, respectively)

4. I hold an NHL scoring record. (Scoring two shorthanded goals in the shortest time at 10 seconds apart)

5. Of the seven NHL clubs I played for, only one was an original six franchise. (NYR)

Who Am I? I am...........ESA Tikkanen!!!

But enough of the old: It’s time for the new! Five new clues, on new hockey figure for you smart guys to figure out. Remember: none of this lame name-only guessing in the comments. It is NOT a valid guess unless you back it up with some cold, hard, facts!!! Give it a go, bring your best, and see if you can outsmart the rest of the folks around here! Good Luck!!!

1. I am a three time Stanley Cup champion.

2. I was drafted twice.

3. Upon retiring I took a different role with my last team.

4. I played in a historical Stanley Cup deciding game involving a player from my hometown.

5. I am an Olympic medal winner.

And as an added bonus: My semi-annual raving about Die Mannequin/Care Failure. Pick up any of Die Mannequin’s stuff, it’s solid. Care is a great songwriter and the girl’s got pipes!!! Their stuff is loud but tight, and varies between some good heavy stuff to more melodic, pop-rockish (albeit not without substance) tunes. My four and eight year olds love it (they do a wicked “Bad Medicine” duet in the car) too, which works out well for me as they won’t let anything else of mine, apart from selected “Appetite For Destruction” tracks, hit the CD player. A great Toronto band you’ve got to check out!

A smattering of samples:

“I Fought The Law” with Care on Vocals (Members of Rush, Big Wreck/Thornley, Three Days Grace and The Tea Party rounding things out)

Bad Medicine

Do It Or Die

Worth your coin if this is you kind of music folks…
