I'm not really sure what side of the line you sit on Rich, but, the city has wasted money on BS projects that generate zero revenue, including but not limited to the latest, "let us revitalize church street and make it a tourist attraction." this building would pay for itself, the damage to the taxpayer ultimately is about as bad as that 80 million dollar abomination of an art gallery and the makeover to Churchill square. The city could do much worse than foot the bill for this arena... And has..
The realistic way to look at this is no new arena, no Oilers. Then in 10 more years when Northlands deems the old barn as inapproprate the city will foot the entire bill for a new arena which will cost them $600 million or more so Northlands can have their concerts. If you think the NHL will move another team here once the Oilers leave and there is just the old rink to use you are wrong. Wake up Clouts, you can't have it both ways. The old rink and no Oilers or a new rink and keep the Oilers! Choose one or the other and then quit your female doging about it.
I think Edmonton should wait 15-20 years when the same arena costs 1 billion to build, and the roof of Rexall Place caves in and decapitates 99 fans whose families sue for 450 million.
just put a toll booth near the oil sands to pay for it. you can't get enough workers in alberta as it is. build condos around the building and sell them to the oil companies to pay for the whole bloody thing.
when guys retire they can go drive trucks.

bahahahahahaha, i haven't read clouts blog yet, should i even bother laughs or is it more hypocritical nonsense???
Its pretty unfortunate that they are already removing some features that would make it as impressive and enjoyable as it would have been. Things like the change in flooring is a noticeable difference, the removable of some of the bistro bars is a pretty big change.
By the time all the people against the new arena are done complaining, and they shave enough money off, the arena will be just another average building.

i know right, i skip right to the comments section, better reads here, plus you are good for posting boobie pics so thats a plus. His last one he seemed upset about them trying to get money for the new arena, and the title to this one suggests he wants em to build it. Sigh...... i guess ill just waste 3 minutes and read it.

So after reading that sarcastic whiny bullpoop, i had to go find alcohol and fast to hopefully erase it from my brain. it is quite apparent that clout's does not do well in the heat.

Sad but true. Its the Edmonton way: nothing is allowed to be spectacular because it might take money away from potholes and snow removal.

Google her. As one memorable quote from the show said, "she's built like a B-52."
(frank)ing great show. Totally worth getting into. - GuyLaDouche
I have heard nothing but good things about it. I have just been caught up with Game of thrones, Spartacus, and Walking dead the last couple years so no time for mad men. I have seen ad's for it on AMC and there are some sexy women on that show. The chic that played emma frost in X-men is unbelievable
