I always liked the playeer not to be named. It all depends on the price. Hammer and frolik is a yes, but no way do I add Shaw. |

John Jaeckel: He Who Will Not Be Named - John Jaeckel
Nice work JJ. And thanks for spelling Cory properly!
I think Chicago possesses the trade chips that Gillis covets, the question is, is StanBow willing to play ball? On one hand, I really like what the Canucks could get back from the Hawks, on the other hand, I have this gross feeling that if we did trade Lu to Chicago, it would come back to bite us big time. As in stand on your head to win a playoff series big time |

If you don't have a huge issue with Marian Hossa's deal, then you shouldn't with Luongo's. The two are similarly structured, with low actual salaries in the last few years of the deal—the total salary paid in the last four years of Luongo's totals $7 million.
If we didn't already have Hossa, Keith, and Sharp on ridiculous contracts, I'd say go or it. In a salary cap world, you cannot have 4 high $ lifetime contracts on one team. |

In the Canucks thread I threw out a proposal of Lu and a 1st for Shaw, Leddy and a 3rd. Wishful thinking I know. Funny thing was, some Canuck fans didn't think that was enough. SMH
Rumor is Gillis has insisted that Shaw be included on any deal. |

All speculating aside, hard to see Luongo end up anywhere but Fla. It's likely the best move for all parties. |

no problem with Luongo depending on what is sent back
JJ, have you heard anything else on Leddy? Have you heard anything about Yandle being on market? would the hawks EVER consider going after Yandle?? |

I too am Luongo'd out. I will say this though,JJ your blog was right on. The only thing I will add is .Van/Chi are not the big rivals anymore .Too much has happened in the last two years to carry a grudge. I am more concerned this year with Minny Edm and LA in our conference and I am sure there are other teams that Chi has to be more concerned about. I think also if the NHL does re-allign then it becomes even less of an issue.
Luongo yesterday on Van radio said "It is time to move on.I enjoy playing in the small markets like FLA that you can go for dinner and not be recognized. I also don't mind the high pressure of TOR .Then he ended it by saying I have always enjoyed playing in CHI".
For him to bring up those three names means that there probably more than smoke. |

So they trade Hammer.. Do you/I trust #5 is going to be able to handle 15mins a night? They weaken DEF to get better on Goalie.. I would think you want to rid yourself of Olesz(sp) first.
edit.. read the last paragraph of the blog.. I'm a moron. |
