because our GM is in love with him as he is with all the rest of our"cup winning" team. Foolish, Ennis should be gone in a heartbeat for Ryan. |

myers straight up for ryan
do you trade potential for a known?
I would - homiedclown
I would.
I have never been overly impressed with Myers.
To be honest I think Myers gets a ton of unfair hype.
He is an above average dmen. Nothing more , nothing less.
With the apparent surplus at defense at this juncture , I would deal Myers without batting an eye for a player like Nash or Ryan or Getzlaf straight up.
Just my opinion of course. |

Ok, I'm glad someone else sees it that way too.
I mean Ennis is a solid player. Sick puck skills, and tons of heart... But Ryan's a significant upgrade. Similar hands, better finishing skills, way bigger and stronger.
In my mind that's a no-brainer. |

Myers straight up for Nash, and I would listen. Bobby Ryan is a very good player, but I still feel that Nash is much more dynamic. As far as Buffalo not being on Nash's list, I'm sure Terry Pegula could change that if he needed to.
As far as Myers goes, I do think he'll eventually turn into that dominant defenseman. It's going to take a while. Remember, Ottawa walked away from Chara because Buffalo victimized him in the 2006 playoffs. He didn't become the dominant defenseman until well into his contract with Boston. |

The only reason
I wouldn't move Ennis is because then we are getting thin down the middle again, and what if grigorenko doesn't make the team are top three centers are Hodgson ott and mcmuscle. I agree that it would make more sense to go after stasny because he's a tip line center, but not a center for another winger. Plus if stafford (big if) can play the way he did with Ennis and foligno the last bit of the year don't see a need for Ryan jmo. |

Not necessarily. If Ryan was a center, then sure, but the problem is, once again, their center depth isn't a position of strength. It's okay to go into the season with, but, with Roy gone, they can't afford to a center unless another one comes back instead. |

I'd be happy to see any one of those four on this years roster, I like Ryan's cap hit and youth over Nash. Although I think the Sabres could use more fire power from the left side and maybe Nash would be better suited for that. From what ive read, Ryan spends a lot of time on left wing inspite of being a right handed shooter, so i guess thats a bit of a wash. Inspite of the boatload of young centers the sabres have acquired or drafted I would still like to see them bring in a veteran center to get the team through the next year or two. Maybe a Jason Arnott, not sure how much tread he has left on his tires but he might be a good fit with a 2 year contract. |

Agreed! It takes time to develop into a number 1 defenceman. Compare Weber's first 3 years to Myers first 3. They're quite similar. |

I'd rather not have Jokinen. One half season of inspired hockey doesn't trump the rest of his career. It's why Roy needed to go. |
