Not all leaf fans see Gardiner for the #1 as a realistic option. Actually, I would wager that the vast majority know Gardiner's value isnt that high.

Dont take the ridiculous ideas of a couple fans to be the consensus for the group.

Yes, I know in Leafsland, Gardiner has won four Norris trophies, a Hart Trophy, one Vezina, and seven Stanley Cups. In the "real" world, he's a young defenseman who looked good in his first NHL season.
