I felt bad seeing the zero comments sign beside Cloutier's and I always love your stuff, Tessier. It's going to be an interesting off-season for the Jets. There's lots of opportunity to be had within the top-10 of the draft and you know that Chevy will be looking to upgrade on some of the roster holes either via trade or FA.

Glass is a great signing, in my opinion. I remember his time in Vancouver and he just seems like a genuinely nice guy who really fits in wherever he goes. Last season, I felt as though he excelled in Winnipeg. Definitely one of the good guys in the league and hopefully he gets locked up with you guys soon.

Perfect. I was getting sick of seeing Hawks fans talk about signing Slater. I knew it was only a matter of time before Chevy got it done.

HAHAH!! Thanks.

It's funny with comments, they aren't always that representative of what's being read.

I think Chevy has to make his mark on the team now. It was close last year to being in the playoffs but it was a bit patchwork, having a top 10 pick in a talented draft with so much activity about to happen is quite rare- it really is a an opportunity which should not be missed.

I agree whole-heartedly Peter. Between the fact that the 1st overall pick is available for the right price, and that there are two absolute stud UFA's on the market, it is an offseason that offers many possibilities for a GM to improve his club substantially. You already know my opinions on what I think the team should do, so I won't rehash.

One thing is for certain though, these opportunities don't happen all the time.

Away on business yesterday and you have TWO blogs! Nice work, glad to finally have some news on the Jets camp. Looks like the 4th line is in place, time to focus on lines 2 and 3. It's going to be a fun 2 weeks!

I haven't really been expecting any big changes, other than maybe a new prospect to hopefully challenge for a roster spot. You got any ideas? Might as well share em, (frank) all else going on.

Well.....my "ideas" tend to be somewhat extreme.

I have been pushing to trade Byfuglien for a while now. I also believe this team can trade Enstrom. Yes, I understand that you would be trading your top defense pairing, but I actually believe this would benefit the club. Your top defense pairing would then be Bogosian and Stuart. I can live with that. Second pairing would consist of Hainsey and Flood. Flood needed to be in the line up more last season instead of Randy Jones. The final pairing would be Grant Clitsome (who proved to be more than serviceable) and more than likely Arturs Kulda.

That is a corps I can live with. It is cheap, reliable, young, and maybe most importantly.......balanced.

Think of what the return would be on a player like Buff. Even Enstrom would bring some substantial return.

Those are the types of players you would have to deal to get a #1 center, or perhaps the 1st overall selection in this year's draft.

Drastic moves ? Absolutely. But they could prove fruitful for a team that looks to be destined for a long period of mediocrity if they don't do something
