absolute steal for the Oil. He's safe, blocks shots, skates very well, and has a very VERY high hockey I.Q. If you guys had anything above an echl goalie this team might be good next year....Add...Harding to this team and their close to a playoff team next year IF they can stay healthy and IF Hall and Hopkins can add more then 2 ounces worth of mucle to prevent injuries....

I honestly dont understand this one.

Why not go after a younger defenseman like Leddy or something like that? You know Chicago is real desperate for a defenseman.

I've always liked Schultz, but giving up NHL level defenseman isn't a great idea for this team. I would have rather traded Whitney, whose barely top four.

NHL 12 says Schultz is 1 overall better than Gilbert, so it must be a good trade

Leddy has the same problem Gilbert dose, cant take people off the puck 50% of the time, but is a great puck mover.

Agreed. I would have given up some package of Omark, Jones, Teubert, Peckham, etc. gladly. A somewhat lateral move seems odd at this time in the rebuild.

Fans on twitter are extrenely angry.

Don't get it.

I like the deal, we need to be better "defensively". To me, Gilbert was good, but not as good as Schultz.

Because you don't get a young defenseman for Gilbert.

I do not agree either... as We waited for years for Gilbert to come around... now that he has we let him go... (frank)!!! but oh well he got to go home and maybe he requested it- who knows...

Pure lateral move.

Offensive D-man for Defensive D-man.

Schultz reliable, effective, and hasn't missed many games. I like it.

Plus it sounds like the Minny dressing room is heartbroken. That's the kind of guy you want to add.
