"If Hall Gill is worth Geoffron, Slaney and a 2nd, Grossman a 2nd and 3rd, what is Oduya worth?"

So that would make Komisarek worth ....... a half a bag of pucks??

Seriously, Oduya's worth imho is a better 3rd line center in the 15-20 goal range.

I never said Komi was worth anything more than a Craig Janney rookie card.

I live in the Peg, Watch at least 4 of 5 games. He's a defensive liability with no offensive upside. Seriously man, Oduya's a bum.

I've watched every minute of every game .... I've said it before on here, ya he coughs it up more than most of the other defence on the team, cough Buff cough Buff ... but he has skill and there are dozens of current Nhl defenceman with worse turn-over numbers than him. It is what it is, he's got value. Apparently TSN is reporting New Jersey has an interest in getting him back, we'll see.

Obviously you arent watching, at the start of the season he was a defensive liability, he's a smooth skater, and decent puck moving defense men. The thing I've been enjoying about Oduyas game is unlike Enstrom, he desides what to do with the puck quickly. Enstrom takes forever lately to pick what he wants to do and slows down everyone, being a pass, dump in or shot.

The 'pizza's' as Noel called them were very frequent at the beginning of the year, i'm not saying they wern't. What i'm saying is that he is worth more than a late round pick as someone eluded to. The numbers don't lie, he is not 'numerically' that bad, definately an asset with respect to trade value if that's the route they take.

I liked his game more in NJ, but seemed to be a better fit to their system. Now that he's here I just don't see much up side to him and he's too old to say he's got potential for growth. He's not overly physical, he contributes little offense and he's guilty of some of the most brutal defensive zone turn-overs. Maybe there's dmen with more, but he always seems to be giving it away at horrible times in horrible places. On most other teams he's a 7th defenseman at best.

I was agreeing with you, he's worth more then a late round pick for sure, we arent just going to give our players away.

It's all good, i honestly think that the team isn't that bad, a minor tweak here and there, dump some dead weight and they look like a playoff team to me. Maybe not this year but here's to hopeing.

How much does the NHL need to capitalize on a mid-west Winter Classic in Minneapolis?
- Peter Tessier

Pretty electric atmosphere last night and I basically thought the same thing - if the Wild get a Winter Classic, it should be against Winnepeg. Only question is will anyone else care to see that.

The trade value of a player isn't just based directly on his performace. You have to factor in things like age and contract as well.

I think he'd be worth a little more if he wasn't 30 years old with a $3.5m cap hit and pending UFA status. There's just not a lot going to be offered up for a $3.5m rental who game doesn't quite live up to the $3.5m price tag.

I'd guess unless they're willing to take on a bad contract in return the most could get would be a late 2nd, but more realistically a 3rd or 4th.

Yes Peter we all seem to want Burmi to do well...even us guys.

The fact that the kid went to a Community Club and ended up playing a game of "pick-up" hockey with kids was awesome.

Add that to the fact he embraced our city by saying "why wouldn't I do this when I do the same at home in Russia"...and then he went on to compare Winnipeg with his home.

The kid was born to play here...
