Wow JV and JVR, Pronger, possibly Mezz a lot of missed man games. Does anyone have a stat of where the flyers rank in missed man games? They have to be up there in the NHL.

He is 4th on the Kings in points, 1 behind Dustin Brown with 8 games less played. So lets say he is 3rd on the Kings if he had a full season played. Justin Williams is second in points on the team with 10 more than Richards.

Two things to consider:
1) New team with new philosophy.
2) Lowest scoring team in the league.

By your reasoning, Scott Hartnell is just as good of a player as Anze Kopitar because they each have 50 points.

Imagine Kopitar on the Flyers; he'd be outscoring everyone with an offense like that (2nd in goals for).

Wayne Simmonds is averaging .61 points per game this year. Even in his best season with LA 2 years ago, he averaged .51 ppg, while the other 2 years were at .29 and .28 ppg. He didn't suddenly become better, LA's offense just sucks.

It's easy to say things like that without actually determining why.

A full 60 minutes please.
Even if there was a fail in the win column tonight, a full 60 minutes of strong effore will be a step in the right direction.

I think they have had effort in the last few games. Execution has been killing them.

He's been off for over a week. The rest probably did him some good but I dont know what to expect from him tonight. He might have to shake some rust off bc he hasnt played.

IDK.
To me, a lack of execution is a lack of mental effort. It's all effort just the same.
Now, it doesn't help your execution when you play two of the best teams in the league. those teams certainly impact your ability to execute your plan.

Need better special teams. That was the difference in both games against NYR and Detroit.

I think part of that could be chalked up to the fact that they played 7 games in 10 days.

That is a brutal stretch.

Anyway, onward and upward!!!

Damn.. seems as though I really hit a nerve there.

All I was saying is that it is funny how sometimes things work out well. We got Simmonds and a heck of a blossoming prospect in Schenn from the Kings. We got Voracek and Coots for Carter. Not only did we get incredibly young as a result... but we got guys who have out produced their counterparts. Didnt once say because Hartnell has 50 points he is a better player than Kopitar.

Looking at Simmonds.. typically guys do "suddenly become better" as they get older and garner more NHL experience. Sort of like Giroux going from 40 some points a few years back to the season he had last year and so far this year.. Players absolutely DO "suddenly become better"
