UPDATE 10 AM EST

The Flyers have called up Eric Wellwood from the Phantoms. He will be in the lineup tonight, as it looks like one of either Jakub Voracek (upper body injury) or Jaromir Jagr (flu) isn't ready to play yet.

PREVIEW 6:05 AM EST

Winners of just three of their last 10 games, the Philadelphia Flyers (31-18-7) will attempt to steer their ship back on course tonight when they take on the Buffalo Sabres (24-26-6)
tonight at the Wells Fargo Center. The game starts at 7:00 PM EST and will be broadcast locally on CSN Philly.

This is the third of four meetings between the teams this season, and the first of two in Philadelphia. The Flyers have won both previous games this season. On Nov. 2, the Flyers roared out to a quick 3-0 lead early in the first period and then (barely) held on in the second and third periods to prevail, 3-2. On Dec. 7, Claude Giroux's overtime goal sent the Flyers to a 5-4 victory.

The Flyers enter this game coming off a highly disappointing pair of losses last weekend. On Saturday, they came back from deficits of 1-0 and 2-1 against the New York Rangers but were done in by poor play on both ends of special teams and by a complete collapse in the third period. On Sunday, Philly held 2-1 and 3-2 leads over the Detroit Red Wings but poor penalty killing, defensive lapses, a fruitless third period and so-so goaltending from Sergei Bobrovsky led to another loss.

Buffalo is 5-4-1 in its last 10 games but has dropped its last two games after playing their best game of the season in a 6-0 shutout of Boston and then getting two points out of a 3-2 shootout win against Dallas. Sabres captain Jason Pominville has been the team's hottest player of late, with points in five straight games (four goals and two assists).

On the injury/illness front, Jaromir Jagr has been battling a vicious strain of the flu for the last week. Ilya Bryzgalov is better now after his own bout with the flu. Andrej Meszaros (upper body) and Jakub Voracek (upper body) are both considered questionable for tonight. James van Riemsdyk (IR, concussion) practiced yesterday but remains out of the Philadelphia lineup indefinitely. Zac Rinaldo will serve the first game of his suspension.

For Buffalo, Cody McCormick (upper body) is doubtful for tonight. Brad Boyes and Robyn Regeher took maintenance days yesterday but are likely to play tonight.
