Carey Price seems a little 'light in the loafers' if you know what I mean..
Not that there's anything WRONG with that...

Yeah I doubt he knows yet, I'm on the fence with Luke he def has some skill but I don't think he is that good of a skater and doesn't use his size to his advantage at all. I think sending him to Roch. will be good for him honestly. |

Anyone else ever wonder if Leino is part of the character issue in the locker room ? Maybe other players resenting the fact that he's the new guy coming on board making big money after only one reasonably productive season ? |

I agree somewhat but I also think Leino needs a few new forwards in here to get him going, I don't think Leino is a bust like so many Sabres fans think. I think Jeff Carter would work great with Ville |

I think anyone that has talent would work well with Ville.
In Philly he got to play with guys like Giroux, Carter, Richards, Briere and Hartnell. In Buffalo he gets to play with Ellis, Gaustad, Kaleta and Adam. |

To even try to bring up the names of Lemieux, Gretzky, Orr, and Howe to anything related to this years Sabres is an insult to every fans intelligence.
Pathetic. |

I agree 100% I like Leino I don't know why everybody wants to run him out of town. Sure we may have overpaid him a little bit but thats what the market price was so we live with it but I couldn't agree more with putting him around more talent. |

Black's statements insult my intelligence as a hockey fan. In their worst years (including Orr's last with the Hawks) any of the Legends would still be the best player on the Sabres.
Wouldn't it be refreshing to have a Pro Sports franchise in Buffalo that would allow their people to speak openly and honestly with the media ? As a frustrated fan I would MUCH MUCH more appreciate it if Ted Black went on the air and said something along the lines of "We know this is unacceptable and changes will be made immediately. We were wrong about some players and need to bring in some new blood while removing some problems".
I'm just sick of getting my leg p!ssed on and then being told it's only rain. |

How can you not want to run him out of town?
He registers a point every 3.5 games. That might be OK for a defensive specialist on the 3rd or 4th line. That isn't what we acquired him for.
He was signed to play center. That didn't last long. It's Darcy's fault for thinking that it would work and it's Ville's fault for saying that he could make the transition. It's failed miserably.
Agree that for some reason, the market helped drive his price tag up. Then why pay it? We could have paid 2 younger guys who are actually centers less money and chances are one of them would be scoring more than .27 points per game. And they would actually be playing center. Taking faceoffs and everything.
When on a line with Boyes and Stafford, we have seen games where they put in a ton of effort, but don't score, and we're all just waiting for them to "break out." We have plenty of guys who can do the same thing. Work really hard, try really hard and get zero results in return. Matt Ellis makes $4 million less than Leino. Do you know what we're getting for that extra $4mil? 5 points. Both have 3 goals, Leino has 5 more assists. How many are primary assists and how many are the puck glancing off his ass? Who knows. The point is, on this team Matt Ellis and Ville Leino make about the same contribution. For Leino's salary, you could pay 8.5 Matt Ellises.
It's a salary cap league. Darcy grossly overpaid Leino. Before last season Leino scored .28 pts per game. Last season he more than doubled that, playing on an offensively deep team, playing on the third line-- which means getting favorable matchups more often. Now, his production is back to <.3 pts per game. Darcy fell for a flash in the pan. Of course everyone wants to run him out of town. It's embarassing. |

You would need a real NHL GM for that! |
