I turned it off after the 1st, too painful.

This collapse is extraordinary. It's almost as if the guys gave up. I don't *think* that's case, but it sure seems that way. Every team has ups n downs, for sure. This team's shown it can hang....then, the bottom fell out.

It hurts, as a wholly devoted fan, to see this. Guys like Kane, Sprong, who've risen above the crap suddenly doing nothing. Defensive issues, we saw it earlier in the season; no structure. Welp, we're back there again. And couldn't be at a more inopportune time. I just don't know guys. Too painful to watch. To disappointing. Too embarrassed. Too humiliated. Maybe it's time for someone to break some sticks, throw something......show some GD EMOTION. SHOW SOME HEART. What a train-wreck.....

Still, this team's shown it can do great things and defy the odds. Now's the time to show it....would be nice.

Last night excluded (was in a dark room with a bandage around my head) this team seems unrecognizable. There are glimpses, but it seems like you’re one goal away from another collapse.

Wouldn't say I've been a Lalonde defender or even a fan, but figured he was fine for the most part. Lately though, he just seems so lackadaisical about the collapse. Sliding right out of the picture and refraining from even saying it's a must win game?

At this point, Detroit would be better off bringing up young players and tanking the rest of the season to get in the lottery. In the remaining games, 8 teams could easily pass them and that get's them the 8th best chance of getting a #1. There is no benefit for them to win any more games this year. Every year we hear them talk about building momentum heading into the next season, but I can assure you that momentum never, ever, ever carries over a six months between games. Lose them all!!

Edit: Never mind, it doesn't matter. I forgot they traded their first round last year and they get Boston's first round.

Quick update - i wrote about the potential VPN ban in the Tik Tok bill. Some of those details are starting to surface. Keep a close eye on your stuff. Apple also released a statement (and update) that “private” viewing is not secure and info is still being harvested. The ESPN “workaround” and other sites may cause some issues going forward for those using that.

Ok, that’s an important element. There are times it’s ok for the coach to be genuinely upset. No, you can’t chase the opposing coach down a tunnel. Not good. But these interviews feel so milquetoast that it’s borderline maddening

If the team ever gets positive lottery luck that would be a good day. Finishing poorly has just seen them pushed back time after time. I still want to see some fight, but I respect where you’re coming from. For GR, if they have a real shot to do something in the post season let those kids play it out. Their points streak was impressive (to say the least) and a post season run in the AHL may be a better atmosphere than what they’d walk into in Detroit. You and MC are former pros, you would know for sure what the balance is. (I thought they got to pick which selection headed to Ottawa. I got scorched for saying the same. If Detroit can keep their own that would obviously be ideal at this point)

Yeah, I don’t remember the last one of these in Detroit. Every now and again it happens. Maybe a little primal scream therapy…..

I’d love to have him back. I don’t think he’s been himself since the Washington blowout which followed the crazy Chicago game. No way to verify, but I think that shook him up a bit

Thought they had the option between theirs and Boston's first for 2024 provided Bos wasn't top 10 (clearly won't be). Assuming that, I would imagine they are sending BOS 2024 to OTT and keeping their own first so maybe still a 3% chance haha

Having a genuine supporting cast would be a draw to have him back. I want him back, but his ship will sail knowing the team's constructed of lackadaisical players....no way to get him energized for another season of sustained "good" play followed immediately by an epic collapse, he wants a team that can win amd to be an integral part of that winning. He had a winning team for a bit, but then.....[insert "puke" emoji here].

No matter how much we may want him back, no matter the relationship with The Cat, this team gave neither themselves nor him, the motivation to stay.

That was a very impressive display by Bowen Byram and the Buffalo Sabres Tuesday night. That talented kid is a pleasure to watch.
The only thing missing last night, besides the Detroit Red Wings, was the sound man playing an endless loop of “ Sweet Georgia Brown “, while the Sabres played keep away.
Make no mistake, this Buffalo team will soon return to the playoffs.
The question is when, this year or next and at whose expense.

I can’t argue with you. He was choked up in Chicago. If he wants to keep playing and be near the current family may just go back if Detroit can’t do more. Seeing Raymond scuffling (I think he had 3 points last night) is a good sign. You need to at least show up. MC, I’m sure you saw some locker room scuffles at some point or another. For some reason athletes can tangle up and then be friends later.

That’s the killer. Buffalo has had some amazing talent but under performed. ROR and Eichel ended up both getting cups after moving on. Top picks, good talent, just not quite lined up

I can see him wrapping up his career with a 2 year contract in Buffalo, depending on whether or not they pick up a solid goaltender in the offseason. Seems like they have all of the other pieces to make the playoffs the next couple of seasons.

I completely understand that y'all are frustrated with the recent play, but you're right there with Washington, TB and NYI, with games left against each one of those teams.

Have a little faith guys!! There's still a chance.

There is, the team just needs to show up and stop this skid. I feel like the Isles could flip with Philly into that 3rd spot and have Detroit racing against Philly/Washington. It’s still pretty jammed up for sure

Love that pickup for Buffalo, their d is pretty stacked going forward which has been an issue for quite a while.

This team is pathetic this an epic collapse. These players should be ashamed of being up 10 points and letting all these teams back into it. The biggest things missing are pride and hardwork as they are easily outplayed by all. The coaches are terrible as if you cannot gear up your team to win or at least lose with pride when you are in a playoff position is beyond disgusting Yzerman needs to get a set of balls and fire Lalonde. Do you believe if Gallant was coach of this team we would be seeing such a pathetic performance. The players just don’t care.
