Even if they have to carry some overage next year, they will be fine. Umberger's buyout, Read and Filppula all come off the books after this season freeing up over 10.1 million in cap space.

I'm not worried about the bonuses. If there's an overage for 17-18, there will be plenty of cap space to accommodate it in 18-19 with Filppula, Read and the Umberger buyout coming off the books.

And if a bunch of the young guys are getting bonuses it means they had strong seasons, which is good.

Having lost more than one family member to it... quite frankly, I think (frank)cancer should be a single word.

He was definitely sniping during the drills I saw at development camp. Lots of stick taps from those on the ice with him and oohs and aahs from the fans in attendance.

The team will also Lhetera's 4.7 Mil off the books in two seasons. They'll be primed to be aggressive in the FA market, if not next year, certainly the one following..if that's what they want to do.
