In total, the Flyers will have 10 picks in the seven-round draft;

If the coyotes obtain a 4th this year, is it required to be a better 4th than where they would've picked?

Flyers draft day goal ? It's going to be one hell of a draft I think with all the good teams hopefully looking for change and a lot of other teams looking to be active should be one of the best days of the year !

Besides the top of the draft.....what are you hearing about its depth? A focus on forwards....I hope.

The Flyers could really use more players projected to be top 6 forwards with size.

By most accounts, the depth of quality is average to below-average.

If the best player available at 17 is a defenseman, do they take him or do they go and fill a need for a scoring winger or other types of forward?

I'm sure their internal list is biased slightly toward forwards this year, but they'll stick to their version of BAP, even if it calls for taking another dman at #17.

(hopefully that dman is Mikhail Sergachev)

They will take BAP or, alternatively, trade down if they like someone they feel they can get a few spots later.

It is said to be an average depth draft, but there will still be some good players to emerge beyond round one. It can help to have those extra picks to work with.

More picks are like more poker chips....the more chances you have you might hit.

GM in Anaheim seems to be on tilt... firing the coach, talking about bodies getting moved out, complaining about his core players... hope Hexy is circling over that situation like a vulture, lol.

Really Hope we can snag Max Jones at #17. Strong power forward who has hands and can score and fills the void of Having no LW prospects

As always, BAP

Even if it's a defenseman; you can flip a highly regarded defender at any time if he winds up surplus to requirements

I totally want a high-end offensive talent, but there's more than one way to skin a cat and they have some bullets to fire with the number of picks they have -- that Chicago second-rounder is looking mighty fine

Go BPA. Can always trade prospect defenseman for a forward later.

I was thinking the same thing. I read a few of the GM's comments, they were pretty harsh and foreboding. I'm sure a lot of it was emotion spilling out, but where there's smoke...

Hexy admitted they need help up front and also about improving from within. I don't see big leaps in that area next year unless they bring someone in from another team. It's a bit much to expect Konecny or Leier (sp) to walk right in a contribute 20 goals...

Maybye Anaheim is ready to make some moves???
