I agree with what you say, but I wouldn't be laughing too much, you just sent a guy to the AHL while paying him 5.75 mil because no one wanted his terrible contract and saved nothing to the cap....

DL gave richards a chance and he didn't come through. Plus, it wasn't the Kings that gave him that contract. LA is trying to get out from a bad contract not take one back

No doubt Clarkson is over paid..but the market bore that out...that's been discussed...I think he would do better elsewhere,...being from Toronto, and playing in Kitchener, he's just a player that cannot handle the hometown pressure...and live up to the huge hype that happend when he was signed..

So you think the craziest part of this made up trade rumor is that the leafs wanted Richards for Clarkson and not that the Kings wanted Gardiner for Richards

It doesn't make sense for either team. If Green gets moved, it needs to be in the West. I'd rather just take our chances on re-signing him and keeping him for this season.

A change of teams might be good for both Clarkson and Richards. Hell give them both Clarkson and Gardiner for Richards if you can. (I know the cap doesn't work). Leafs can keep 2-2.5mil in salary for this year to make the deal work. Get creative.
