As reported on two weeks ago, the Blues did indeed offer Brodeur an Assistant GM spot, he did discuss with the Devils, and has accepted the position for the remainder of the season.

The Blues made a really smart move here. Marty is a great hockey mind and whether or not he eventually takes a position with the Devils...which I do believe he will..this is great training for Marty. Smart move on both sides.

On the Islanders and Richards...

Mike Richards has cleared waivers, but the Islanders have a definite interest and if the Kings take some salary there is a good chance a deal gets done. It sounds like there is some other interest as well if the Kings take some money back. Word is the Leafs offered up Clarkson, the Kings wanted Gardiner...
