Why don't we just put Goc on the first line? (frank) it right? Too bad there are no pie charts tracking the amount of times the puck rolls off Goc's stick. He has hands of stone and always has. He hasn't played with Adams and Sill his whole career. His career high is 30 points. C'mon RW

It's just mind boggling that everyone can see how offensively (and defensively) anemic Sill is, and yet he's still got a place on the bench on and the 4th line. I can only imagine that injecting Goc with Rust and Farnham would do wonders to that 4th line...just leave Sill behind.

I'm not on board with needing another winger or whatever but I'd love another checker physical presence to allow us to have a chance at winning a round in the playoffs.

No idea what any of that meant. All I know is goc is a great 4th liner and that's his ceiling...

In other news pens have gotten weaker... they recalled farnham.. be on the look out for crazy skating at opponents amd no offense whatsoever. Hope the pk is in top form...

Solely relying on one's eye test can lead you to false evaluations. Solely relying on numbers is also not the most optimal strategy, but relying on the numbers will steer you right a hell of a lot more times than it will steer you wrong-RW

I hate advanced stats, its the only place that Matt Carle is perceived as a better player than Ryan Suter. Regardless i believe it is true that the real value of a hockey player lies some where in between, hockey is a game that has been evaluated on the eye test for a long long time; good shots and attempted shots to me do not truly represent the value of a player in this game we all love.

Goc is what he is, he used to give us fits behind the net in FLA.

Seriously, but don't worry he's 31 and he hasn't hit his prime of a first line Art Ross center. He's a 4th liner and that's where he belongs. Give him Farnham and Rust now, Spaling and downie/farnham once the team is healthy.

I'll take Farnham any day over Zac Sill. He drew a crazy amount of penalties with such limited TOI and games played. Not a regular NHL'r, but if he can continue to draw penalties, he should be here.....certainly more than Sill.

I think he is a great blogger here, not many teams get a good blog a day. RW uses strictly advanced stats over any actual eye tests. If Goc was sooo good then don't you think management would bring him higher in the lineup? Teams have advanced stats people that work for them.

But its the same stupid motto... bring up a guy who will fight amd can't skate vs philly... how bout trying to out play them and out score them before trying to out kill them... it's stupid... sometimes I wish the pens played in the west...

Most NHL teams are using the exact same statistics these days. Since you hate Sutter so much, I'd think a blog like this would be like winning the lottery.

I've been a supporter of Sutter, but he's been a complete ghost for weeks. Besides one goal, he's worse than the consol ice.

Why is it unimpressive? It's a better way to evaluate things. It gives you insight into what you think you are seeing (which is probably wrong most of the time, as he points out). I just find it funny that you guys complain so much about his blogs, yet your traffic gets him paid.
