Good job,

Prep is key! Putting in the extra bit of time goes a long way in separating the top from the bottom... Anyone and everyone knows that you pick a Crosby or Ovie, but then gets lost in the later draft rounds!

I need to forward this to a couple buddies

Nothing worse than somebody fumbling around and taking 15 mins to make their 2nd pick

Exactly.

Odds are you will get stumped a couple times every draft. You really dont know what player is going to get picked when other than the first round, or maybe 2.

Being as best prepared as you can goes a long way, nothing worse than drafting a player that you scrambled to pick only to realize they are hurt or dropped down to the third/fourth line.

Yes it's always nice when the draft goes quicker than the 5, 4, 3, 2 (pick) and you just sat 3 minutes and are waiting 8 more people before you pick

I like it

I think Heatley is going to be on that line with Perry and Getzlaf and 100% agree with Brad Richards having a good year for a mid to late round pick.

How do you know Brown is playing with Kopitar to start the season? I don't remember seeing this anywhere. Or is it your opinion that he will?

At this point im not sure if it will be DSP or Heatley - either will do well, I guess it depends how they look in pre season and how hard the Heater is digging.

As for Brown with Kopitar: Game 4, round 1, vs SJ.

Sharks are up 3 - 0 in the series, the Kings put Brown at center with Kopitar. Kings win 4 straight and the rest is history.

On that note, Brown was shuffled around last season...but i feel they will keep their captain in the mix with the top line.

49 points in 58 games last year - he was playing well.

I can see a drop off in points, but i think above 50.

Excellent work Lucas!

I feel it is very important to prepare for the draft well in advance and formulate a gameplan.

Selecting average players in late rounds that are playing with high-end line mates and getting top line minutes/PP time are steals!

Keep an eye on the winger who will be playing with Datsyuk and Zetterberg this year...if all goes as planned Weiss will be back in the lineup as #2 center which would allow Pav and Z to play together on the top line. Nyquist, Franzen or event Abdelkader appear to be the front runners for this spot.
