He won't...he wants 700 wins...unless he takes an office job he needs to stay off the roster for the good of Cory...poor kid has gone though enough to be a number 1. |

I can't see this happening. Even if Brodeur "accepts" 20 starts a season, the potential media fiasco during any losing streak won't be fair to Schneider or PDB. - jersey1414
I'm with you, but Dreger mentioned it and there's nothing else going on so I'd be ignorant not to write about it. |

How much coin should Lou give him? $2M for 20-25 starts? |

Go away Brodie...seriously...just go away. |

It would be nice if he did, but also better if Brodeur retired a Devil.... - Ur Not Me
He still might whether he signs or not |

The only reason why I would want him as back up is if Cory gets hurt do you really trust Clemmensen or Kinkaid starting 30-40 games? |

I don't see any way he comes back short of an injury. He was just plain bad last year. Sure he had a few games where he looked like he turned the clock back about 10 years, but most of the time I was holding my breath every time the puck was shot at our net.

Nope. I have this crazy theory that Lou purposely signed a meh AHL goalie like Clemmer so that Kinkaid can outplay him with ease and snag the bakckup spot. Thereby earning his NHL status and not having it thrust upon him.
I mean, there were other serviceable backups out there. Clemmer was signed as a stepping stone for Kinkaid IMO. |

I'd probably take Brodeur over Kinkaid or clemmer for 30-40 games, yes. But that's like asking if you'd rather drink your favorite beer for the next 9 months, but its a few months past it's expiration date, or drink nothing but keystone or natty lite for that same 9 months. Personally, I'll stick with my favorite beer (I've done it before it still tastes ok and I can't think of a better metaphor right now).
The reason I wouldn't want him back otherwise is he can't seem to keep his mouth shut and his presence is too much of a shadow over Corey. What happens if he has a stretch of bad games? Do they then go back to rotating the two? It's not fair to him when he's clearly the better goalie (him being Corey). |

Kinkaid is somewhat untested at the NHL level, but he is good, and I feel he is really the better choice of the three at this point and time. The one NHL game I saw him in he played very well (when Marty was injured and Hedburg turned funnel two years ago.)
Keith had a top 3 (he was third) record in the AHL in 13-14 posting a .912 in regular season and .932 in the Calder cup playoffs.
Kinkaid also would do whatever he was told and work his ass of if given the opportunity.
I love Marty but his battle with butthurtitis somewhat crippled his game play and certainly his like-ability last year.
Also - the outdoor game, there's that. |

Marty was plain bad last season who's to say he will be better then either guy ? I'd rather him just announce his retirement or have him sign a twenty game contract if possible to give him a shot at 700 and if not he legally can't play more then the twenty does anyone know if that's possible ? I know players signed I day contracts to retire with a team |
