Total joke. You let spears go and a shoulder down hard check is 3 games?
If I'm Chicago, I'm seriously pissed at this ruling.

No doubt Lucic should have been suspended.

Total joke is right. Should of been way more. Nothing says classy like a nut grabbing coach, dirty hits, and Keith that was trying to hurt Tarasenko all game lol wow such a tough guy, fights maybe one time a year haha. Try that stuff with a tough guy but no to big of a puss to do that.

A hit during a hard playing game with a suspension is worse than a blatant jab to the nuts on a player? I agree Seabs deserved to be suspended, but I think you're going a bit overboard. These hits are more and more common, and typically go unpunished.

The joke is Lucic getting off with a fine, not Seabrook getting 3 games. They got the Seabrook ruling correct. Can't be mad at that. Get mad at Lucic, who has a bit of a rep (just not on record), receiving a slap on the wrist.

I think I'm most upset at the extremely similar hit by Orpik on Toews that wasn't even reviewed and shouted on these hockeybuzz boards as a clean hit that shouldn't be punished yet this one gets 3 playoff games... No secret, but the NHL has no backbone whatsoever with their rulings. Either punish the hit or the result, but as a Blackhawks fan, this it's really hard to be burned on the flip and the flop of the two different rule 'interpretations' the NHL has implemented.

I thought 3-5 games was right for the hit.
I don't see how Coach Q gets $25k for what he did and Lucic gets $5k for a much worse infraction.

Don't know who those guys might be. Most of the Hawks fans I saw, when not getting into it with Pens fans about it being hypothetically similar to the Orpik hit, expected a suspension.

Chicago is getting off lucky with only Seabrook getting suspended. Bickell twice stuck his leg out to catch guys in the knee in a way that could end careers, he deserved to be gone as well. And that's saying nothing about the punching a guy in the back of the head when he is already laying down on the ice.

Blues play a rough, physical game. Blackhawks are actually trying to injure people.

The Lucic ball crack deserved at least a one game suspension, and the Seabrook hit deserved the three games. It was a cheap shot.

I didn't see anything wrong with the Orpik hit, and I didnt see anything wrong with last nights hit. Its too fast out there and Backes didn't help himself, unfortunately.

Lucic should've gotten one game. Edit: And a cup check without a cup.

Three games for that?! Backes had it coming and put himself in a bad position. Seabrook laid a hard check on someone playing the puck. One game, maybe, but the idea that he gets three games for making a "hockey play" and Lucic gets nothing for a blatant spear is a joke.

The good thing is we find out the going rate for someone cracking a player in the nuts. Just don't grab them after because that is 25 000

THIS.

It was amusing watching Milbury laughing in the studio when they were discussing the Lucic spear, like it was nothing. I would bet any amount of anything that had John Scott or Pat Kaleta speared Lucic in the junk, Milbury's head would have exploded. The Bruins are immune to any sort of league justice and have been since Colin Campbell's son joined the team.

Haha anyone that thinks this hit is clean, is full of it. Don't like Backes that is fine but don't try and lie to yourself. And as far as people saying he had it coming just shows your true colors as a person. Yeah lets root for players to get brain damage, you sound so smart. Lets have that happen to MacKinnon and then I will come back and say, well he had it coming and watch you cry about this and that.

OHHHHHH I forgot for people like you its different when it happens to your team. People like you (meaning) disrespectful people. His heads down so lets hit him lol right no worry about you could kill a person. Nooooooo not at all. Just sad plain sad

I didn't say I hoped for injury or brain damage. I'm saying that hits like that are a part of the game. Backes should know better than to put himself in a position like that.

So now we know. In the NHL it's more expensive to play with yourself then it is to play with others.

They weren't even close to the same hit. There is a reason Toews skated off favoring his shoulder and wasn't doing the baby deer walk. If you can't figure out why you need to return to a Grade Health class and learn some anatomy.
