Paul McCann: Sunday Shots - Last Dance in Smashville... for the season

Who is out there saying it would be easy to get an elite scorer? I have not heard or read that. Paul you are confusing fans who express the need for more scoring here, with saying it can actually be done.

I think we are all aware of the glut of mediocre forwards tied up through at least next year.

If there is a coaching change I wouldn't be surprised if he were one that could blossom. He may never be an elite scorer, but he can be much improved and a new voice in his ear might just do the trick.

He was roughly a .5 point per game player playing for the Blackhawks the past two seasons playing third line minutes. He was 7th on their team in scoring last season and 5th on their team the season before that. This season he only had 19 points in 70 games and is 15th in scoring. He has way more to offer than he did this season. He doesn't suck but he definitely could use a shake up. Wouldn't be surprised if he is gone and wouldn't be surprised if he stays.
