Oh I get it! Stir up a little extra controversy to get some hits by doing a little unwarranted bashing of the US team captain! Neat! Wow, how long did it take you to type up this little masterpiece? I'm guessing about a 10 minute morning poops worth. Nice timing, I mean it's not like the game wasn't played nearly 3 days ago! Guess you thought you'd get the spot light if you waited a few days though huh?

Classy!

If anyone should get blasted , it should be that joke of a coach Blysma. Managment made a big mistake with that clown.

You know what? I'm no fan of Parise. I think he's way over rated. But during the pre-game interviews (prior to Canada game) he was the only one that sounded like he took Canada as a serious threat. Everyone else was spewing about the US being able to score at will. He came out and mentioned that Canada had teams in their group that played a different suffocating D style and hoped to get lucky in close games where the US played teams with more open style. To me Parise was the only one giving Canada credit for the game they were playing.

Yeah, I'm happy for Teemu too. But I'd like to know if he's going to give the Ducks that kind of an effort from now on. This season, every time the puck hits his stick, it feels like it'll be an automatic turnover. Maybe now he can earn a little extra ice time by concentrating and giving full effort like he did in Sochi. There'll be time to rest when you retire T.

Parise is a glorified grinder, end of story. He's not a dynamic goal scoring player, he's not a dangler and he' not a hulking power forward that punishes opponents... But somehow he's still managed to average around 30 goals a season throughout his career and he's a class act on and off the ice. IMO there is literally not one thing about Zach Parises play/game that anyone in their right mind can legitimately criticize or bring into question. The guy is a consumate professional and he's the hardest working player on the ice, may not be the most talented, but he's been pretty damn successful so far throughout his career.

This is just some bullpoop blogger trying to provoke a response and get US fans even more whipped up in order to elevate the level of hits on his blog.

Good Lord calm down! If you knew anything about Steve you'd know he's a die hard Devils fan. He's just getting in a little dig on a player who dumped NJ.

BTW, in the medal round, Parise was about as visible on the ice as Bobby Ryan was.

I don't know. Teemu can still skate and he thrived on the wider ice surface where he could use his speed. We'll see. I'm hoping Gabby reunites the Selanne-Bonino-Silfverberg line. They worked well together earlier in the year.

I always love how easy it is for someone to claim a player was "invisible" in a game. Especially in a blowout loss where seemingly nobody showed up. I mean it virtually requires not a shred of actual proof because it's a completely subjective point to make.

If I recall Parise was a 0 for the game in the +/- column in a game that saw 5 goals scored against the US in a shutout loss. Guess he WAS invisible!

As far as the Americans go, I guess any team led by Zach Parise is bound to come up a bit short.

Wow. Folks are a bit sensitive...

I took it as a crack at Parise's stature (no way he's 5' 11).

Initially had a chuckle after reading that line... isn't that what you were going for, Steve?

it's definitely not surprising that US lost to the Fins. The Fins are a much more systematic team.

I don't know enough about Zack to say anything, but US just lacked of effort. It's understandable though, losing in the semi's must be tough and to play the next day only for a bronze isn't too much of a motivation when you have a team that was coming in hot. One team cared about winning and one didn't.

i don't know what the rest of the team was doing but Kesler was putting his body on the line trying to block shots and get something happening. There's a picture of him posted on PHT where he saves a goal when Quick was flopping around.

Makes me think the coach should have put Miller in after the team went down 2 goals, but Bylsma didn't seem to know what he's doing. Changing the goalie might have woke the team up and gave someone a chance to try and light a fire under them.

Not enough guys pulling in the same direction. I guess for some guys they'd rather just roll over if they don't get what the want.

Not enough motivation to play for the flag.

I'll take Vatanen and our first this year and even Rakell if we can have Girardi locked up long term at a reasonable price. As much as I think Girardi gets out of position in New York, I think he'd thrive in our system. And he brings the toughness we lack. I really don't want to give up Vatanen. But you have to give to get. That said, no deal if it's a rental situation.

i understand, i wouldn't give up that much for a rental either, and it would suck losing him but we get a great return so I could live with it, would absolutely love it if it was OTT's first

Yesterday, Murray was quoted as saying that he isn't interested in any rentals. I doubt he would give up Vatanen for one with that mentality.
