Being a die hard Kings fan I am stoked. But I will say it is a tough decision because of Quick's style and how Chi lights him up including last years playoff run. Quick will face a teams with lines like Chi top one, but this time at least 2-3 lines a game of All-Stars. He is a lot more aggressive and a very bad puck handler which could hurt him in the Olympics. But we'll see and I have faith in him!! |

Jason Lewis: Quick will start over Ryan Miller - Jason_Lewis
I think its more of a "pulse taking" maneuver, although there are not any real gimmie's in Olympic hockey, getting the start in the first game is not a slight against Miller. I think he wants to see if quick is in a game stealing mode or if he will come unglued, then we will see miller real soon.
I don't think Miller is the "no brainer" that mike milbury so adamantly stated, but the real test is on the ice, not on paper. |

I think the coach had it in his mind from the get go that each would start the first 2 games and that the only real decision was WHO would start which one.
What is interesting about the decision(and assuming my hunch is correct) is that Miller gets the nod for arguably the tougher of the two opponents.
What's more perplexing is that in interviews Quick does not appear happy with the decisions, including the start tomorrow.
Either way, i think you play the better of the two after each gets a start....and unless that chosen starter falters, you have to keep them....switching every other game between the 2 would be a horrible idea. |

Both Miller and Quick as fantastic options, so you really can't go wrong. Can't blame them for starting the guy that raised the Cup. Makes sense. |

Give each guy 1 start in round robin assuming you are winning each game. The best guy plays in the elimination round until they falter |

Hey, what is up with Quick not getting some USA pads? Saw pictures where he was practicing with his Kings pads/helmet. |

To be fair, no-brainers are really millburys domain.
I don't think there was a wrong choice here, really. Go USA |

Miller has been the more consistent player of the two. Quick is playing good as of late but which quick will show up against the power house teams? The slow starter or the playoff puck thief? Good decision to get a quick look (pun intended) against one of the weaker teams in their group. I like Milller's response in saying Quick will do good, I think he will and so will Miller in his starts. GO USA!! |

I agree. Both guys will get to play. Whom ever plays lights out will carry on. Glad we got two studs to lean on.
I hate when the vote thing takes you to a new page. |

Most Teams are starting their number 1 goalie in the second game and running with them. |

Miller will play against the Russians and in the elimination rounds. Quick will play the two games that the team should win regardless of who starts in goal. If you look at Miller's workload this year, he would never play 4 games in 6 nights. The team is doing the right thing and saving him for the games that matter. |

don't think so, although there's only been a small number of games.
lundqvist started for sweden, rask started for finland, price is starting for canada (and he is the #1)
i don't know why people think that miller is the clear #1 over quick.......is it cuz of the success miller had 4 years ago?
there numbers are somewhat similar this year (miller better sv% and quick better gaa), granted they play on VERY different teams. i don't think the difference in their play this year is enough to say one is CLEARLY the starter over the other. in fact, in terms of NHL success, quick has been the better goalie of the two, if you look at the last 4 years. |

I can't complain if that's the case. Miller can most definitely get the job done. |

That's just how Quick interviews, he says that in LA too when it's obvious he's the starter regardless of what happens. He played very well tonight, I expect Miller to play well on Saturday, and we'll go from there. |

thanks for the the clear response, I was really just being sarcastic cuz that guy is such a chump and the hockey has barely started. |

An inside source tells me we already have! Dean Lombardi was waiting for him in the tunnel after the game.
