Edler for Crosby? Ok seriously, how about James Neal?

Moulson makes sense in Pittsburgh unlike some of the other rumors from this board (aka Ales Hemsky). I hope Shero doesn't give up a ton for a pending UFA. I don't like dealing prime assets for a rental. He better sign him before he hits free agency if he trades for him.

LOL ... Neal is carrying us. Not a chance. Besides, why in the hell would we want Edler?

Mr. Eklund, we're the same age BTW, how do I get my inbox deleted? It's bothering me that it says I have a private message, which I don't. It happened because someone sent me a message without a title, thus I couldn't open it.

Are you nuts? Why would they move Neal? They need to add another top 6 or top 9 Fwd, not subtract one....

Moulson is too slow and one-dim for the pens system. They'd be better off getting one of the FLA guys who are up for sale, Boyes/etc or a good fit imo would be Burrows who could be had much cheaper than Moulson and he plays a game that the pens could use...

Would like to see what Bennett can do with top 6 minutes. Otherwise he is basically becoming the current/next Alexei Morozov. They have a ton of assets to move on the blueline, but cant mortgage the farm since a few will likely have to replace guys like Orpik and the other veterans as they begin to hit their free agent years.

Is Brodeur past his prime or is there enough left in the tank for him that either 1) the Pens should go get him to back up Fleury, or 2) the Pens should consider grabbing him so that Washington does not? We all saw how well that worked (er failed to) last year when Shero grabbed Iginla.... I take it that just the Pens even being in this conversation means that Vokoun will likely retire?

And why would Boyes be for sale?

Moulson is much more versatile than you think, and a better player overall.
The problem is he is going to want and likely get $6M per for at least 4-5 years on his next deal.
On top of that, I have no idea what Buffalo would be looking for from Pitt as Buffalo has a ton of young D and is in dire need of quality forwards.

Moulson is 30, hardly a "Young Gun" by NHL standards.

Not sure what the Pens would need to give up to get a top 6 winger, but if they are giving up a top D prospect, it better be for a guy that is younger than 30 and is not an UFA.

yea, if we are going for a pending UFA around 30, let it be Cammy. Guy is a better player who would be better with Crosby and the price would probably be about the same.

but like you said, I would rather look for a younger guy who can solve problems down the road.

If the price was reasonable, I would have no problem going after Evander Kane.

would a Kris Letang for Evander Kane trade make sense for anyone? I know it would for the Penguins, not sure what Winnipeg's situation is like.

It wouldn't be a top D prospect because Buffalo already has a ton of those.
