Why do you guys want players to play in the Olympics? I'd rather they got the rest during the break.

Because they earned the opportunity and should get a chance to represent their country. KO should be there before many other players but he wont.

In an unbiased opinion, here is a list of US born players I'd take above KO based on this season

Kane
Kessel

And that's it. Not Ryan, not Parise, no one else. KO has been a monster

these are moments KO and JT dream about, as they deserve to get these shots, they've earned it

OK, I get that. If KO is selected and wants to play that's good. But as an Islander fan I'd rather he gets passed over.

They should be worried about the team that pays them millions making the playoffs not the freaking Olympics. I for one could care less about the Olympics, just my personal opinion and I don't fault anyone for liking them but to me the Olympics should be the furthest thing from their minds when the team that pays them more in a year than most people make in a lifetime is 9 games under 500 IMO. Just play well for YOUR team and it'll work itself out one way or the other. I'm already sick of hearing about this.

thats the dumbest thing i ever heard. this is the olympics we are talking about, not world juniors. these are also professional athletes in their mid 20s. hes not going to get suddenly drained and play like he hasnt had a break in two years. playing for your country could also ignite him to a whole new level that we've never seen. taking two weeks off could cool him off.

no reason to not want your islanders to play for team USA.

Why? Want to rest them up for the big playoff push?

If I hear Goring say "this is the win that's going to start a streak" one more facking time I'll puke. He's said that the last three times they won. Unfortunately it took them a month to win three games

Responding to comments from last blog:

I don't think anyone is trashing Okposo by saying we wished he would play like he does against Minn every game. I think we are all VERY happy with his play this year and the last half of last year. It just seems to us when he plays in his hometown he goes into a whole other gear of "beast mode".

Cant look over deHaan playing 20+ minutes with Hamonic...the kid has been great so far.

I dont think he's a top-pairing solution but he hasnt disappointed at all.

KO has been a great on a really poopty team, I honestly believe he's having a better season than Parise and a smidge better than Ryan

If this team could clear the puck out of the d zone he'd probably hve even more points

How awesome was the snow interview? Him and Wang are perfect for each other

Well they could certainly use the practice. With a few weeks under Cappy's direction ... hmm. Never mind.

He did an interview? Was it in between periods? I DVR'ed the game and fast fowarded through the intermissions. What did the facking clown say?

He could be? None of us have any idea how he will develop? I wouldn't be unhappy if he developed into a solid top four which I think is realistic which I'm guessing you were saying in so many words?

Give me a break! They risk injury and they are away from the team that's paying them millions. What player had this incredible epiphany at the Olympics and ascended to a whole new level? If taking two weeks off can cool off players then why allow the Olympic break at all? Doesn't it hurt the majority of the players?

Oh I'm sure. Did he blame the season on injuries and say how wonderful Capuano was? I'm guessing he took zero blame for the team that he put together and did nothing to help?

He was originally projected as a top 4 pairing so it's not out of the Realm of possibility that he developes into that role. Especially once they have a few other HIGH ceiling guys on the team with him... Reinhardt, Pulock, Pedan, Pelech, Mayfield, etc. etc. are all projected as possible top 4 pairing guys... they can't all be busts. (can they?)
