This Domino was pulled from the very foundation of the structure. Could it be he glanced up and sideways and saw decay, and suffocation? Today he has relieved the fear and can breath fresh air again. Those who remain just had the fear of uncertainty ratcheted up several notches. Not a good feeling. |

Is there a blockbuster deal about to happen, the Flyers are usually good for one every couple of year and it has been awhile. |

You sound like this is bad thing. In my mind this is great as long as they bring in a replacement from outside the organization who actually knows something about the game and will act as an advisor instead of micro manager. What have they won under the Lukko watch? ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING! He may be a shrewd business man but he ain't very good at talent evaluation. Here's a novel idea, maybe we let the GM and his staff do their job with minimal interference from the President and Owner. Oh wait, we still have Ed Snider. Oh well maybe someday it will all work out but I'm not optimistic!

It isn't the job of the president of the team to be those things. In the Comcast system his job is to run the business of the team. The person interfering with the GM and others in the organization is Mr. Ed. Luukko was very successful at making money with this team and more importantly for Comcast corporate, as chairman of Global Spectrum, which was a much bigger job. |

This domino saw his stock options at a bigger value than ever and the economy on the beginning of a business cycle. While still young enough to take such a risk he's monetized his stake in Comcast and moved out to do something (we'll see what, eventually) with that as an investment. Good luck to him. I'd like to see the Flyers hire a president who is solely in the hockey business, not splitting time with another gig. But maybe there's too much Ed around yet for that to happen. |
