Decent player, but only room for 23. I presume he will be claimed

Maybe not. With two seasons left on his $625,000 one way deal, teams might avoid putting a claim in on him. What team wants to claim Porter just to pay him $625,000 just to skate in the AHL.

If any team puts in a claim on him, I'd bet they would have a spot on an NHL roster for him.

Who wants this bum. His type of player are a dime a dozen in the NHL. Also gave up on his home country of Canada to play for the USA in the World Championships. Let him play in the AHL, who really cares anyway.

Just wondering where you guys might see PRV (Pajaarvi) lining up? will he make the squad? will he become the 2way third liner all oiler fans thought he was becoming?

Despite your unusually strong opinion of a fringe NHL'er, he would actually make for a decent pickup as a 4th line winger for a few teams. St.Louis has one one of the deepest forward groups in the league so any cut they would have made would have been a tough one. It's not a huge warning sign(to other teams) being waived by the Blues, compared to being waived by a team like the Panthers or Jets or Flames.

This. Not to seem like a homer, but Porter was one of the guys that I've been a little shocked hasn't been a steady 4th liner. He's quick, he hits, he has decent hands, and his compete level is great. He might not put up consistent numbers, but he creates chances. Could easily be a steady 4th line or even 3rd line player. Really would hate to see him go.

I think I read him and Lappy aren't even in the starting line up.

until injury, paajarvi, lapierre, cracknell and reaves will probably swap in and out of the press box, barring exceptional play from one of them.

judging by the last article http://www.hockeybuzz.com...-Signs-with-FLA/168/54338 the-pierre didn't seem to be in the bubble talk so i would imagine he starts the season. my guess is paajarvi will be upstairs on thursday.
