Any word if Larsson was the guy in the middle on the PP or was Zid still at that spot? Hope Zid is on the sideboards and not in the middle. Larsson has good vision like you said and I just trust him more with the puck at the point then every defensemen.

But Zidlicky is so good at taking shots into defenders' shins and giving them breakaways

i also liked reading that PD wants to use larsson more and give him more freedom, not limit (as much) him like the first 2 season i hope he steps his game up more

i can see the PP lines as

elias-zajac-jagr
zidlicky-larsson

clowe-henrique-ryder
greene-fayne/harrold (depending who is in the line up)

and loktionov might get some PP time too

True we need to keep allowing the most shorties a season. We have worked hard at having that reputation hate to lose it now.

Good read Todd I think all of us except for one is breathing a sigh of relief hearing what Pete plans on doing with Larrson. Time to give the kid the reins and show the other teams why we took him 4th overall. As most of you know I haven't seen anything from camp and have heard less then most of you but how are Severson and Merril looking ? are they making a case for themselves or do they both need a year with a call up here and there? I just ask because it isn't often Lou says the things he has said about Severson and Merril.

i haven't really seen anything about severson so i doubt he will have a shot this year, but it appears through the pairings that merrill and gelinas have been on in practice/scrimmage that they are getting a look at

but really havent seen anything much on anyone if the prospects

Thanks I would really like it if Gelinas or Merril could steal Volchenkov's spot then it would be easier telling him that he needs to make a list of teams because we got guys better and younger. I think that way he would understand and not be bitter instead if we where to be like yea you just haven't worked out like we planned and we want you out of here. This way it would be more like there are just better players and you have been a warrior for us but it is time for you to be a warrior for another franchise but not really

Probably a good idea not to have Jagr at the point. Its one thing when kovy was there and could possibly break it up, but it might be a bit embarrassing if they score before Jagr is even at the red line

This is true. I think he won't try to push his luck like Kovy might have, though Jagr at this age knows what he can and can't do and when to do what he can do and when not to do what he might not be able to do. Where as Kovy would push himself knowing he is in his prime and is putting his money on himself to be able to do what he is trying to do without it being broken up or being able to get back to break it up in time.

Anyone else notice how crazy-high EA rated Anthony Brodeur in NHL 14?

He is a Brodeur also gotta make up for not having Wedge in the game and I am still really disappointed Merril isn't. I am also pretty sure Elias Lindholm isn't either and neither is Valeri Nichuskin I mean I would be pissed if the devils got a top five pick and it was really the only thing to look forward to in the game and they don't even put your top pick in like wtf

4 gold stars potential. Kinkaid and Clermont have 2 and a half red stars for reference.

lol I know, I hate not having Merrill... Hopefully they'll add him in a patch once the season starts and he's a regular on either the AHL or NHL roster. They can't ignore him forever and the NCAA no longer has his rights, so there's no legal issue with having him in the game.

Also, its an odd glitch to have but for some reason Scott Parse is always on our AHL roster without a contract when you start a GM mode. You can't trade him or buy him out, he's just on the team for some reason lol

He's probably on the team because you don't have enough players actually signed to fill out Albany's full roster. They did it in previous games when you didn't have enough guys and the game would just "sign" random scrubs for you.
