Hope he lands on his feet and has a solid role on a team in need. Could see him going to Montreal

Hey Ek,
What happened with the Flyers not wanting him back for a one year deal?
They have an opening on the third line left wing. Gagne would have been a good fit with Couts as a pretty good shut down line.

He was solid for them last season.

All summer the impression I had was the Flyers were just waiting to offer him a contract after putting Pronger on LTIR.

Now it's sorry, not even a PTO.

Do you think this a result of input from Hextall?
Or fear of his injury history?
I did not have the idea he would be looking for too much money in this deal.
He was quoted saying he was willing to play for less $.

What's the real story?

Clutch team guy waiting around willing to cut a hometown discount?... Homer... this is why you can't say boo about Jagr, Knuble or Carle not waiting around for you to deal with Your salary Cap problems, or to wait and see if you landed that big Free Agent. I mean it's fine, this is a business, but as far as I've seen Gags has done what was asked of him in waiting in faith. I'm not saying you are wrong, but I am saying that you've lost the ability to blame a player cause he moved on too quick.

Still, I'm sure Simon will find a spot somewhere else.

I just don't think the guy can play a full season without an injury and you hate to put money/faith into a player you know is going to miss time.

I'm betting on Hextall quashing the deal.
But you're right, we'll never get the true story.

Why do people always suggest the Islanders could use some over the hill/constantly injured player? On another board someone was saying the isles should get Vinny Prospal. Why? Where does would they fit? You clearly don't follow the Islanders. If you glanced at their roster you would see they are all set up front with a ton of young guys pushing for spots. Now a top 4 Dman or starting Goalie would be a different story

Petro signs for around where Blues fans predicted, just as Shatty did... where are all the people saying Blues couldn't afford to keep their players again?
