I was jumping with joy when he fell into the Devils lap but then they traded their pick for Schneider so it all worked out (Hopefully)

I believe that Gonchar is a solid addition to the Stars defense and a 2 year contract was not an unreasonable risk. Nichushkin was a great pick for the Stars at #10 with his high ceiling, even though there are always risks associated with Russian players. I believe he makes the team this year but will start on the 3rd line as the Stars try to give him time to adjust to NHL hockey and keep him away from other teams top defense pairings. I think a 3rd line of Cole/Eakin/Nichushkin would be a nice line with a lot of speed and ability to drive the net.

Man I say go scorched earth and put Nik, Seguin, and Benn on the 1st or 2nd line. Let them make mistakes and learn. Nothing wrong with a 500 or worse season, this team isn't really primed for a cup run.

I doubt it will happen, but that's what I'd do.
