Never realized Eberle was that high, that's good to see from an Oiler perspective where our 5-on-5 isn't the greatest. |

Michael Ryder has more 5v5 goals than Crosby...that's surprising, even accounting for injuries. |

I'd be interested in seeing these numbers broken out to be equalized based on TOI, especially seeing Toews at number 2 with such a lack of ice time. |

Ryder has more 5 v 5 goals than Kovalchuk, too, and Kovalchuk played over 200 more minutes. |

Further proof that Toews is a great player and—I took a lot of hell for this a couple of years ago, but I'll say it again—in some ways underrated. |

There is only one Toews there are lots of scorers that play very similar games but there isnt really a high end talent like Toews that can do what he does |

He's won 2 cups. Never going to win a scoring title but he is exactly the type of player and leader you need to win championships. I'd take him on my team every day of the week. |

Toews is an amazing player. He should be at the top of EVERY GM's list for a player, leader and Captian. |

Agreed. Another shocking stat that no one really mentioned is the 16 goal lead Stamkos has on this list. That's mighty impressive |

Run the ratios and it's very telling.
Toews, 39 goals per 1528 minutes 5 on 5 = .0255...
Stamkos, 55 goals per 2142 minutes 5 on 5 = .0256...
offensive production per minute on ice is identical.
When I started reading this blog, I figured Toews would be on the list. But didn't figure him to be second outright. However, it does not surprise me that by the above ratio he is t the top of the list. |

I'm a huge Teows and Chicago fan. Most of the time, I HATE every other NHL, but I have no hate on for Chicago. There just.... (frank)ing awesome. There talent, unstoppable. There coaching, undenialable. There system, unbelievable. There future, limitless (couldn't think of any "UN" words). |

There is no doubt the Toews is amazing and talented, however Stamkos is, in my opinion, the best pure goal scorer in the NHL rigt now. |

I do not disagree with this at all. But it does make you wonder if Toews didn't spend so many minutes killing penalties, and taking possession draws in his own end what his numbers as a scorer could look like. All I was saying is that this metric speaks volumes about what kind of player Toews is. |

He may very well be on the level of Stamkos, but if he excels at what he does why change it? Stamkos doesn't spend very much time on the PK, but he is becoming more reliable defensively. |

Great shirt read Todd, this list seems pretty important, surprising names show just how valuable they really are to their team compared to perhaps their more talked about teamrmates, those who doubt pacioretty's value, or even kesel's for example, very interesting |
