Jagr scored 16 goals last year and added 19 assists. 35 points in 45 games. No reason he couldn't be good for 20 goals and 40 points next year. Should help the PP. If this actually happens.

The Pru center is the state of the art retirement home.

Next moves are to sign Sykora, Hejduk and Prospal, then finally we will complete our 2006 Czech Olympic team.

If we sign him and Brunner we have some serious depth. 3 second lines basically and a CBGB line that is one of the best 4th lines. Problem is we have no stars on forwards. Maybe we make a move at the deadline to acquire someone like Vanek. Then we got a cup contender. Lot has to happen tho.

I've said for awhile I wouldn't mind him. He's still capable and would help the horrendous power play we have. I'd imagine he would cost a lot considering Jarome just got 6 million and Jagr outplayed him in the playoffs and had a solid regular season.

The D has to exceed expectations for the Devils to be considered a true contender. The D that broke PK records in the regular season and led the Devils to the SCF 2 years ago was the same D that couldn't stop PPs from scoring and coughed up late 3rd period leads on multiple occassions. Lots of ifs on the back line.

I think the timing is going to be a factor. Teams were in "spend, spend, spend" mode on 7/5. After that nobody seems to be opening up the wallet. I would think Jagr's desire to play top 6 minutes (which he won't get in many teams but definitely would in NJ) and the rumored desire to play with countryman Elias will help keep the cost down some. I could see 1 year, 3.25M.

No chance on either player. Waiting until the deadline would prove very costly for a player like Vanek, as the teams will be bidding. It'll cost you some future blue chippers and in my opinion, just not worth it. Not for a rental.

Dallas fetched a 2nd rounder + for Jagr just a couple of moths ago. Ryane Clowe fetched 3 draft picks after scoring 1 goal in 30 plus games. Vanek would definitely be worth that package and then some.

Some troll in the comment section of Fire and Ice made up that the Devils traded Fayne and Urbom for Stastny and now everyone's running wild with it.

I'm sure some idiot just said "Hey Colorado needs D and we need scoring". It makes sense for colorado to be looking for D. Devils need wings, not Centers. And it'd probably take a D-Man a little bit better than those 2.
