The last week or so a lot rumors were swirling that the New Jersey Devils were targeting Damien Brunner to help replace Ilya Kovalchuk.

While that still may hold true, it seems Lou Lamoriello has at least one other player in mind.

That player appears to be future Hall of Famer, Jaromir Jagr.

Jagr, 41, was at the Prudential Center inspecting it Thursday, according to Czech website isport.cz.

Whether anything comes of this report remains to be seen, but it will be interesting to follow nonetheless.

Is Kovalchuk planning a return to the NHL?

Devils re-sign Jacob Josefson.

Just how good is Reid Boucher?
