Agreed.

And yes, Silfverberg needs to be in the top 6, guy can be a real threat on the ice already.

If they don't pull a good second-line center they're dead. And a good defenseman would be important. It seems the Ducks have too many goalies and wingers, and not enough decent defensemen.

Have Grabovski slide into the #2 center role which in turn would allow Koivu to play in a more appropriate 3rd line role.

I think Grabovski is a good fit for Anaheim, both short and long term.

trade for MaJo and/or MP, then we sign Grabovski. BB gets one of his boys.

Take Green too, please.

Washington is another team that Grabovski makes a lot of sense.

Not to be negative, but at first glance at those line combos, you wonder if they'll score enough to make the playoffs.

Nothing wrong with the defense and goaltending, but the offense could probably use a bit more...just my two cents.

I love Selanne but I'm starting to wonder if his delay is causing the organization to not "line their ducks in a row". Can't expect to win championships if you drag your feet so your boss doesn't know how much is left to sign other stars or your depth.

Throw Dvorak on the 4th line. I would re-sign him if I was the Ducks. Solid line up. Don't bring any ridiculous free agent in this season. You guys are fine and the FA's available next season will be way better than this garbage crop of contract whores.

Apparently Dustin Penner is about to sign a 1 year, $2 million deal. I wonder if this means Selanne has made a decision to retire. If not, good Lord the Ducks are loaded with wingers. Perry, Penner, Silfverburg, Etem, Cogliano, Winnik, Maroon, Beleskey, Staubitz, and a re-signed Palmieri. If Teemu comes back that's 11 signed. I don't think Boudreau is planning on rolling 5 lines so something has to give.

Also, I got to talk to Murray at the ST open house and they were very interested in Grabovski but he's not interested in playing on the west coast unless he gets over-paid. Murray didn't say that specifically but I got his gist. So I don't think Grabo will be an option for the Ducks, unfortunately.

Interesting insight on Grabovski, that's too bad for the Ducks.

With Steve's line combos we'll be close to the bottom in the league. Luckily they won't look anything like that. Silfverberg could end up on the first, etem and palmieri will get huge minutes, and koivu should be the 4c. If we were to get a 2c I say we should trade for stastney.

And one of souray, Allen or sbisa cannot play on this team next year. That's an automatic top 5 pick. Vatanen should be a regular this year

Haha my bad man. I just hate to see Murray waste our cheap contracts for our rising prospects. And now he's signing Penner to push them farther down the depth chart? It's ridiculous

We don't want anyone from your roster, so Statsny is not an option for you.

With or without Selanne, I think we have the Wingers to fill out a roster. They may have some maturing to do, but the future is here.

But it certainly appears that Bob Murray is counting on one or two of our current Centers to "step up, and become NHLer's". Either Bonino or Holland will have to grab that 2nd line, and run with it.

Perry-Getzlaf are obviously 2/3 of the first line, and some winger will fit with them.

Cogliano-Koivu-Winnik showed themselves to be a pretty solid 3rd line.

But that second may faulter.

For those who are worried about our offense, however, check last seasons totals. 8th in the league don't suck. It's the team's overall defensive performance that has me worried.....

I think Bob Murray is done making moves this offseason, since there is just no 2C for him to go get (Grabo won't come West w/o getting overpaid).

Here is what I would like to see the Ducks roll with to start the season,

Forwards Without Selanne:
Silfverberg - Getzlaf - Perry
Etem - Bonino - Palmieri
Beleskey - Koivu - Cogliano
Winnik - Holland - Maroon

Forwards With Selanne:
Silfverberg - Getzlaf - Perry
Etem - Bonino - Palmieri
Cogliano - Koivu - Selanne
Beleskey - Holland - Winnik

Defense:
Beauchemin - Fowler
Sbisa - Lovejoy
Souray/Vatanen - Allen

Ducks are better with Selanne, but not $4 million better

And where does Penner fit in, who has apparently signed a 1 year deal? And what about Pat Maroon, who signed a one-way contract? The Ducks have too many wingers, I don't think Murray is done.

Murray also hasn't signed palmieri yet. The penner signing could be a useless way to get palms to sign for cheaper. Either way it's time to unload some of our prospects for a top 4d

Awesome idea. Take a good checking line and move the center to the fourth line with two bad skaters. And how are we getting Stasney? I don't even know what to make of your top 5 pick comment. Billy Madison, is that you?
