You clearly have not watched the Devils. The guy is terrible and we've had prospects rotting in the minors for years without getting a chance in the lineup because of all the veterans signed to big money. This will be Urbom's 4th year in the AHL

Sorry, I edited to calirfy, check what I wrote. Its not that he hasn't shown anything, there just hasn't been any room for him because of how much these old bums are getting paid to get beat.

he just takes so many penalties. It's one thing to be weak in your own zone and be decent with the puck.. but when you take a penalty/game, you're now TWICE the liability. officially no room for a kid. Lou wasn't just blowing smoke with wanting to re-sign Zid.

yikes.

everyone in the bottom 4 is a liability. We only have 1 good defensive pairing.. and it has a 20 year old on it. Salvador can position himself well but that's about it.

Let's hope he's not exempt from being scratched like last season.

Easier to create transition through the neutral zone and stretch out options on the PP, especially if the go back to the 2012 passing/creating a shot template. Plain and simple. Every team in the league benefits from having one guy with Zidlicky's skill set.

Not everyone can be Karlsson, Doughty, or Keith....but someone back there needs to be able to skate and move the puck. A backline loaded with Volchenkov's, Salvador's, and Fayne's can be just as detrimental as Zidlicky's lack of physicality (which, btw no one had an issue with during the cup run). just in a different way.

he aged about 10 years in 3 seasons. .. that's pretty much all that went wrong with him. I want the Volchnkov we had when we signed him. He was a beast.

Because we're poor. But not too poor to sign Zidlicky. The worst kind of poor.

I don't love the idea of Jagr but on a one year deal I'd be alright with it.
