Lou Lamoriello has decided to bring Marek Zidlicky back into the fold.

The New Jersey Devils have signed Zidlicky to a one-year contract extension, according to Aaron Ward of TSN.

Zidlicky will earn $3 million on his one-year deal.

Zidlicky, 36, recorded 19 points in 48 games this past season and has 27 points in 70 games as a Devil over the last two seasons.

While Zidlicky is very mediocre, if that, defensively at this point in his career, he is one of a few players on the Devils who can help create offense.

Given the Devils want to give one of their young defenseman a spot on the roster this season and the fact they have seven defenseman signed, I wouldn't be surprised to see some movement at some point this summer.

It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out.

Just how good is Reid Boucher?

Former Devils Scott Niedermayer and Brendan Shanahan named to 2013 Hall of Fame class.

Devils extend Darcy Zajac and Tim Sestito.

Can Damon Severson make the team?
