What do people think about David Steckel??

Big, can be physical, kills penalties. Probably could be had for under a million

Him and Jokinen are pretty similar in that they are faceoff experts. I dont see much value in Steckel other than that. I'd prefer someone else for a bottom pair. Steckel skates in mud.

We still are goalie coach-less?

I hope that some of these young bodies can start to step into roles and make an impact. Guys like Bennett and Despres have moved up the ranks hopefully now we can start to see Harrington and Pouliot make similar steps.

Steckel kills penalties, which is the area where losing Cooke hurts the most.

I'm hoping to see teddy Blueger make a nice impression. Also would like to see marcantuoni make a nice bounce back

Anyone think Anton Zlobin can crack the pens lineup in a year?

I think it may be time to start drafting some forwards

It may be time for some players like Jeffrey and Sill to get playing time and see if they stick as bottom 6.

I have my reservations about Jeffrey but there may not be too many better options as it stands right now.

Anyone know if there are any players' season in review sort of recaps from each player for this past season in Wilkes-Barre anywhere?

I've read them in the past, and they usually give good insight into prospects that we don't really get to see much. I can't remember who did them...

Id take my chances with banking cap space and trying to acquire a bottom 6 player at the deadline than trying to fill perceived holes as it currently stands. They are definitely there, but this team should be good enough to be a contender

It will be an interesting dynamic with the new playoff format.

I think it's a little alarming that they don't have any forward seemingly ready to challenge for a 3rd or 4th line spot. Maybe Sill....DePaoli doesn't even list him in his top 25 of Pens prospects.

I wonder if they would consider flipping guys like Bortuzzo or Dumoulin for a forward of equal regard?

I'd say Sill is the type of player you'd want in the bottom 6. Another Vitale type. The Penguins dont necessarily need to churn out top 6 forwards from the minors with the team they have. Some contributing bottom 6 players would be nice though.

A Leafs fan taking shots about a contract offer this summer?

That's pretty rich...

Uher is still there and came along a little bit later in the season. I'm still holding out hope for him as a 3rd-4th liner, but that will likely take another season.

I saw Tom Kühnhackl play last October and I would be surprised if he was anything close to being ready for NHL action. AHL scrimmage seemed to be a lot for him to handle on that specific evening.
