Setogucci was billed as a scoring winger when he arrived in the Burns trade from SJ, upon leaving MN in this trade he should be billed as more of a undersized grinder who if playing with the right table setter could see him score 20+ goals. Setogucci was no longer viewed as Top 6 for Wild and Heatley being considered an injured player made it so the Wild was not able to buy him out. Setogucci could have yielded a greater return but the Wild was right up against the cap. Setogucci was a solid citizen and worked his tail off last year. He just isnt able to handle the puck well enough generate his own shot.

Thanks for the insight as it helps make a bit of sense of why Minny moved him.

I really like the moves the Jets have made through the draft and free agency. Addin guys like Seto and Frolik will improve the teams depth greatly. Frolik may have been a bottom 6 forward in Chicago but he can be more then that and I would be surprised to see him produce more offensively with the Jets.

Re-signing Clitsome and Montoya were smart moves by Chevy too.

These moves may not be the flashiest acquisitions but they are effective nonetheless. I would expect to see Winnipeg in the post season next year.

Setogucci is a guy who drew the ire of fans and was targeted by the coaching staff but I really respect what he did last year with regard to effort and energy. Nobody on the Wild was robbed more or split second late on scoring chances. Setogucci will be a fan favorite if matched up with a player that can carru the puck and set him up.

Streaky player. When he was hot he was always in the right place at the right time and his wrister was no slouch, but when he was cold he looked often times defeated while on the ice.

No doubt was asked to elevate his physical play last season and did just that logging 92 hits in 48 games, and no doubt he worked his tail off for Yeo. I just don't think Seto is set up for a large amount of success unless he's playing with good puck moving seasoned veterans which showed last season when he was set up with Cullen and PMB. Much like his first couple of seasons with San Jose playing with the likes of Thorton, Pavelski, Marleau and Michalek.

This is nothing more than a necessary move of desparation by Chuck Fletcher. He needed to free up last minute cap space and likely took the highest bidder on short notice. Seto going into the last year of his contract was likely not going to be re-signed by Minne and therefore was expendable.

The fact that they traded him within the division likely hints to the notion that they are not worried about his ability to make or break the season series between the two new rivals.

The most puzzling thing about this move is that had Fletch had any inclination whatsoever that they would have to or would likely move Seto, why not do it before this years draft instead of getting nothing back in the way of immediate help for the Wild offense?!

I'm guessing he'll most likely look like the identical player he was in a Wild sweater for Winnepeg, at times he'll look like a goal scorer, and at times he'll look like a defeated player just trying to get through the current nights game.

Good luck to Seto and Jets fans, all in all a pretty decent accquisition without really giving up too much or giving up anything immediate.
