They already paid him so much $$$ upfront (not likely)

Weber Jones & Rinne supports Poile's plan to continue playing 1-0 games, (ie: no offense)

Emery coming your way? Do you think Mason and Emery is the answer?

Bill, rumors are circulating that Emery will sign here. Not sure about you but that seems like a good scenario to me. They give up nothing and likely wont pay an arm and a leg for him. Thomas would have been good as well but Emery, apart from his problem hip, seems less of a risk. Not sure what they are thinking forward wise but it seems to me there's not really much room - cap wise or roster wise - to add much more to the forwards. Obviously a trade is still possible. At this point however, does it really make sense to move Coburn?

I say:

1. Sign Emery

2. Sign Gagne (if possible)

3. ONLY trade Coburn if they can get an upgrade.

4. Be done.

with hall signing I get the feeling that we will be trading away some centers today, schenn, cooter, talbut...or maybe all 3 if we are going after a top d and another top line scorer like ryan or kane as reported

also I just read here trying to move mezzy and grossman instead of coburn

I very much like the idea of packaging together coburn/mez with read, and either schenn/laughton and maybe a pick for a younger stud dman. Names like Ekman-Larson, Petrieangelo, Bogosian, Shattenkirk, or maybe someone more proven like Yandle. I'd also love to bring Gagne back if the price is right, I just don't see right now how that would be possible.

with all due respect, how does the hall signing effect schenn, coots or Talbot? he signed for peanuts and is a fouth line center. the only person this effects is scott laughton, which I hope they don't trade. I hope its just to keep him maturing and used as a call up if needed.

if you expect schenn and Talbot to play wing then okay, but before this past week thought our centers would be g-schenn-coots-laught and now with the signingsits clear our centers are g-lecav-?-hall

Both Mez and Grossmann concern me because of injuries. When healthy I like them both, but what is the chance they both make it through an entire season, I'd try to trade one of them. Yes I know it will be hard because of their injuries. What I don't want to see is the team counting on both of them and they get hurt.

Hall will likely center the 4th line, which means Laughton could stick as the 3rd center, which could allow them to move Couturier. Also, if they view Talbot as the 4th center, Hall staying could allow them to move Talbot's contract out for cap relief.

I do expect Talbot and schenn to play wing. Talbot isn't a true center anyway and the Vinny Signing would seem to indicate something would be fishy with Schenn, but that said, I would be surprised if Schenn goes anywhere and if Talbot goes, well, whatever. I don't see it, but if it happens it happens. obviously the centers right now are g.vinny.coots.hall. Schenn will move to vinnys wing with Simmonds. coots has read and Talbot for now, I bet they sign a wing for the third line and our fourth line is rinaldo.hall and rosehill/Talbot. makes total sense and is actually a functioning line up.

I think the reality is that is very unlikely that any of those players will be traded. Especially Ekman-Larson and Pietrangelo. Not impossible, but unlikely.

Laughton either plays in Juniors, or on the Flyers. So he's not a call up candidate, unless it's done on an emergency basis.

Yep. Right now it's just options. Any one move doesn't mean another deal is imminent.

Hey, Darroll Powe and Arron Asham are on waivers.
